Heading into the day, Purdue commit David Blough ranked first in the Elite 11 standings and was placed on Team Superbad along with quarterbacks Stephen Collier and David Cornwell. Joining the signal callers on Superbad are SPARQ champion Speedy Noil, speedster Johnnie Dixon, Jalen Tabor, recent Cal commit Jaleel Wadood and many more D1 bound ballers.
Day Two of The Opening at Nike headquarters in Beaverton began with the Lineman Challenge featuring the best offensive and defensive lineman in the country. The game of football is usually won in the trenches and this year's crop of linemen are loaded with talent.
The most impressive performer on either side of the ball was St. John Bosco (CA) offensive lineman Damien Mama. The big man beasted in 1on1 drills against quality competition.
ESPN's recruiting guru Tom Luginbill put it best, "He was as advertised. In a drill rigged for the defense to win, he was still dominant."
The 2013 B2G Elite Camp at UCLA provided the ideal setting for any aspiring college level athlete. Student-athletes participating in this year's camp walked down the to field for the morning session after having breakfast in the dining hall close to the dorms they'll be housed in for the remainder of the weekend. There were several D1 college coaches in attendance at a 7v7 passing tournament at Gardena Serra High last week. Narbonne and Culver City joined host Serra, who was without standouts Adoree' Jackson and Dwight Williams.
The Serra offense was directed by returning starter and Boise State commit Jalen Greene. With receivers like Jordan Lasley and Greg Webb in the mix, Greene will have plenty of weapons at his disposal. The Cavaliers offense is certainly in good hands under Greene's stewardship.
