The Recruit Life Sneak Preview. Adoree' Jackson, Dwight Williams, Jalen Greene and Glen Ihenacho. CLA goes into "The Recruit Life" with four of the West Coast's top 2014 HS football recruits.
Watch Terry Crews give recruiting advice to a few Serra Cavaliers. 2014 All-American recruits Adoree' Jackson and Dwight Williams met Crews along with teammates Jalen Greene and Glen Ihenacho. Greene recently committed to Boise State.
One name that you will hear more of in the Southern California area is Ricky Town. The 2015 quarterback from St. Bonaventure in Ventura, California stands 6-foot-4 and 190 lbs. and is picking up interest rather quickly.
"I have offers from UCLA and Miami (Fl.). Stanford, Alabama, Arizona State and Washington are also showing interest," Town said. That is a great list to boast for any quarterback, especially this early in the stage for a 2015 recruit. He's just patiently waiting on more offers, but he's going out there to try to earn them.
You can't hold back the competitive nature of a great athlete. Along with his competitive fire, the desire to win and to be the best is what fuels Serra High School's Adoree' Jackson.
"I know once I get out there nobody is going to touch me," the junior says as he talks about competing in the long jump. "During basketball season I went out there and jumped 22 feet and I only took 8 steps."
Michael Turner is beginning to gain a lot of interest in the South. Auburn HS (AL) features a few of the nations' top recruits, and the 2014 defensive lineman Turner is grinding to get his name out there.
Football in Alabama is a big deal. The state is home to the defending national champion Crimson Tide. A major reason for that success is their access to a hotbed of talent in the area. One such standout is Auburn High (AL) defensive end Darian Yancey.
The 6'0 213 pound pass rusher has been terrorizing opposing quarterbacks throughout his football career. Yancey had 7.5 sacks last season for the Tigers. The 2014 recruit recently landed an offer from South Alabama.
In addition to the South Alabama offer, Yancey has received interest from several major SEC programs.
There were plenty of top athletes on-hand at the 2013 Nike Football Training Camp. Local Los Angeles-area schools were represented very well and several top players earned top camp honors. 2014 LB Dwight Williams from Gardena Serra was named linebacker MVP.
When you’re coming out of the heart of SEC country, you know you have to stand out as a football player and that is exactly what Auburn High School (Auburn, AL) linebacker Rashaan Evans is doing. Evans stands at 6-foot-3, 218 lbs., runs the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds and currently has 24 offers from many of the top schools in the nation including Alabama, Auburn, USC, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida State.
Adoree' Jackson is coming fresh off of a CIFSS Basketball Championship and now has two title rings, after winning the first with the Cavaliers football team earlier in the year. Jackson talks with CLA Sports after the win over La Verne Lutheran and lists the top schools interested in him at the collegiate level.
