The 2013 recruiting class at USC features three of the top wide receivers in the nation in Sebastian LaRue (Santa Monica, CA), Steven Mitchell (Bishop Alemany, CA) and Eldridge Massington (West Mesquite, TX). LaRue and Mitchell are both versatile slot-type players just under 6'0", while Massington has a long frame at 6'3" 205.

1. Collin Klein QB Kansas State

Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein put forth a Heisman worthy performance in Morgantown, leading the Wildcats to a dominating 55-14 victory over West Virginia. Klein played a near perfect game, scoring seven touchdowns.

Klein clearly outperformed Geno Smith, throwing for 323 yards and three touchdowns while adding four scores on the ground. The Wildcats moved up to third in the BCS standings and should be favored in every game going forward.

For a football program with a long line of legendary running backs, getting commitments at the position isn’t a hard task. So is the case for the 2013 class which features verbal commits from Lincoln HS’s (Stockton, CA) Justin Davis and Joliet Catholic’s (Joliet, Il) Ty Isaac. The two could form a dynamic duo that USC is used to seeing around.

The Burbank Bulldogs crushed the Glendale Nitros 56-10 at Moyse Stadium Thursday night . Burbank super sophomore running back James Williams put on a ridiculous performance, rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only four carries.

The Bulldogs seized control of the game from the outset and relied heavily on their stable of running backs that includes Williams, senior captain Teddy Arlington and junior bulldozer Joseph Pendleton. Both Arlington and Pendleton scored two touchdowns for Burbank.

Recent Utah football commit Dominique Hatfield (ATH/2013) was a beast against Dorsey. The senior football recruit had 2 interceptions, returning one to the house and scored on a sick TD catch at the back corner of the endzone on a dime from junior QB Ajene Harris in the first quarter.

Hatfield had several other nice grabs, including a snag on a deep ball down the Dorsey sideline from Harris with the added difficulty of a defensive pass interference call against the Dons.

The Crenshaw Cougars defeated the Dorsey Dons 34-14 Friday night at Jackie Robinson Park to notch their seventh victory of the season and seize control of first place in the Coliseum league.

Crenshaw jumped out to a 7-0 lead when junior quarterback Ajene Harris linked up with Dominique Hatfield on an 18-yard touchdown.

The Gardena Serra Cavaliers took care of business Thursday night, dominating league foe St. Francis 42-6 behind a stellar defensive performance and three touchdowns from Malik Roberson.

With playmaker Taz Bateman lost for the season with a broken ankle, it was incumbent upon others to step their game up. On this night, it was Malik Roberson that was up to the challenge.

Trailing 3-0, the Cavaliers took the lead on a rushing touchdown by Roberson. The Serra defense held the St. Francis offense out of the end zone all night, yielding only two long field goals. Serra led 14-6 at halftime.

Kansas State senior quarterback Collin Klein led the Wildcats to a solid conference road win at Iowa State, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 187 yards through the air. With the victory, Kansas State is in sole possession of first place in the Big 12 leading into a highly anticipated showdown with Geno Smith and West Virginia.

Those in attendance at Bishop Alemany High School Friday night witnessed a relentless barrage of offensive production as the host Alemany Warriors defeated the Bishop Amat Lancers 56-35 in an exciting Serra League showdown.
