CLA Sports Recruit Interview: Sebastian LaRue 2013 USC Commit

Sebastian LaRue Solid with Trojans

The 2013 recruiting class at USC features three of the top wide receivers in the nation in Sebastian LaRue (Santa Monica, CA), Steven Mitchell (Bishop Alemany, CA) and Eldridge Massington (West Mesquite, TX). LaRue and Mitchell are both versatile slot-type players just under 6'0", while Massington has a long frame at 6'3" 205.

LaRue has great top-end speed and a knack for making difficult catches in coverage. The Santa Monica HS senior has a natural ability to make defenders miss when he has the ball in his hands and has superior route-running skills as high school wideout.

"I have setup two visits so far. One to Washington State... when they play UCLA in a couple of weeks and I setup one to Ohio State when they play Michigan. So those are the two games that I'll be checking out and just checking out the school environments. Right now I'm fully committed to USC. They're my number one right now, that's where I stand," LaRue told CLA Sports.

Sebastian LaRue performs on the field with a confidence and swagger that is immediately noticeable and he's just the type of player that any college program would want on their team. It's easy to see why the USC Trojans offered the Santa Monica senior wide receiver and come February, Larue will more than likely be a member of the Trojan family.

After Santa Monica claimed the Ocean League title on Friday night, LaRue spoke highly about USC to CollegeLevelAthletes.com.

"I like the things they have to offer off the football field... the alumni situation and things like that. That's really what drew me in to USC. On the field they have a great tradition of putting people into the NFL, but off the field academically and with alumni and things like that you're setting yourself up for a great life down the road."
