The Burbank Bulldogs crushed the Glendale Nitros 56-10 at Moyse Stadium Thursday night . Burbank super sophomore running back James Williams put on a ridiculous performance, rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only four carries.
The Bulldogs seized control of the game from the outset and relied heavily on their stable of running backs that includes Williams, senior captain Teddy Arlington and junior bulldozer Joseph Pendleton. Both Arlington and Pendleton scored two touchdowns for Burbank.
The Burbank defense, anchored by playmaking defensive lineman Steven Kim, shut down the Glendale offense for the majority of the game. For the season, Kim has 12 sacks and has applied relentless pressure on opposing offenses all year.
The highlight of the game came late in the second quarter when Williams broke a long touchdown run as time expired to give the Bulldogs a commanding 35-3 halftime lead.
James Williams is a flat out beast capable of taking it to the house every time he touches the rock. With two more years to work on his game, there is a little doubt Williams is D1 bound. Pac-12 programs will be clamoring for his services and rightly so.
With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 6-3, 5-1 in Pacific League play. Glendale falls to 2-7 heading into their final contest with rival Hoover next week. Burbank closes out the regular season at Burroughs as they prepare for a playoff run.
