Since freshman year of high school I've been scouted by over 47 different schools, including some Pac-12 schools. Over the summer, my team and I worked every day non-stop to prepare for the season. I worked on building my speed, strength and agility to fly off the ball on defense and make tackles, and get off the ball and make pancakes on offense. So far, the hard work has paid off tremendously, as it has showed in week one against Chino.

Practice tempo has been hyped ALL WEEK. We've prepared to come out against Chino with a hard push up front in the trenches with both our offense & defensive line. Last year we suffered a lost to Chino for our first game.

Then getting knocked out in the 2nd Round of Playoffs by Muir High School. This time, our team mentality is going ALL OUT & giving it your all. Now that it's my junior year, I'm trying my best to lead my team with a hype mentality but a humble heart as well. We all worked so hard ever since the off season, now tomorrow will determine which team wants it more.

Led by the determination and experience of Coach Jose "Coco" Jarin, who was the Football Chair for the 2012 LAWSG. Along with Football co-Chair Kenny Lawler, Jarin organized 16 high schools football teams from the CIF Southern Section that included the likes of Locke, Inglewood, Morningside, Diamond Bar, Verbum Dei, Franklin, Lincoln and several others.

My experience at the LA Watts Summer Games was incredible and inspirational. Having been a kid who grew up playing basketball around the neighborhood with K&E Bulls out of the Crenshaw district, it was nostalgic to see this event unfold with my team partner and great friend Aaron Plunkett. Even though he was handicapped with a badly sprained ankle, he made his way across numerous playing fields to support the LA Watts Summer Games mission, and it was dedication at its finest.

Here are some of the highlights from Day two of 7on7 High School Football competition at the 2012 LA Watts Summer Games. Check out Diamond Ranch, Lincoln, Franklin, Morningside and Inglewood in this high school football highlight mix.

The wide receiver position was one to watch during Sunday's championship round. Franklin's Joshua Taylor was clearly the most dominant wideout at the LA Watts Summer Games and possessed a leaping ability and hands that will excite a number of high profile Division I colleges.

Jose “Coco” Jarin knows the game of football. More importantly, Coco Jarin knows the game of life. As a coach with over 25 years of experience, Jarin has worked with the likes of former NFL player and Stanford Defensive Coordinator Dave Tipton, Sweetwater High School coaching legend Gene Alim, Mt. San Antonio College coaching guru Bill Fisk, who starred at USC, former Oregon Ducks star and Pasadena City College Head Coach Kenny Lawler, and the list goes on.
