The Chaminade Eagles defeated the Hart Indians 28-10 to capture the CIFSS Division II Regional Championship Saturday night at College of the Canyons to advance to the Div. II State Bowl game next week.
The Eagles defense, anchored by seniors Jojo McIntosh and Rick Gamboa, bottled up the Indians offense for much of the night. Junior defensive end Joel Loth was a monster off the edge tonight, wreaking havoc in the Hart backfield and tallying four sacks.
The highly anticipated matchup between the host Mission Viejo Diablos and the visiting Don Bosco Prep Ironmen from New Jersey lived up to the hype with the Diablos pulling out a thrilling 28-25 victory in overtime on an 11-yard touchdown run by Alex Suchesk.
Leading 3-0, Mission Viejo quarterback Ian Fieber connected with Boise State commit Sean Modster on a 14-yard touchdown strike to put the Diablos up 10-0. The defense was led by the stellar play of senior Michael Matthews. Viejo added a field goal and led 13-0 at halftime.

The 18 quarterbacks competing for the top prize at the Elite 11 finally got the opportunity to display their abilities in competitive play as 7ON pool play at The Opening kicked off Tuesday afternoon.
Heading into the day, Purdue commit David Blough ranked first in the Elite 11 standings and was placed on Team Superbad along with quarterbacks Stephen Collier and David Cornwell. Joining the signal callers on Superbad are SPARQ champion Speedy Noil, speedster Johnnie Dixon, Jalen Tabor, recent Cal commit Jaleel Wadood and many more D1 bound ballers.
Day Two of The Opening at Nike headquarters in Beaverton began with the Lineman Challenge featuring the best offensive and defensive lineman in the country. The game of football is usually won in the trenches and this year's crop of linemen are loaded with talent.
The most impressive performer on either side of the ball was St. John Bosco (CA) offensive lineman Damien Mama. The big man beasted in 1on1 drills against quality competition.

The 2013 crop of Elite 11 finalists continued to hone their skills in Beaverton, Oregon on Sunday. Of the 18 quarterbacks attending, University School's Sean White is the only yet to commit. White balled out on Sunday and should make his decision by the end of summer.

The 2013 B2G Elite Camp at UCLA provided the ideal setting for any aspiring college level athlete.
