The Oregon Ducks landed stud defensive end Arik Armstead to bolster their defense. The 6’8 285 standout from Pleasant Grove High in Elk Grove is expected to play football and basketball for the Ducks. After initially committing to USC, Armstead grew more comfortable with Oregon coach Chip Kelly and should wreak havoc in the trenches for the Ducks.
Florida, the Sunshine State. Florida, the straight up speed state. Ask Tacoi Sumler (WR/2011), who ran a 4.33 forty at the National Underclass Combine last year. Sumler, at a modest 5'9" 165 pounds isn't your prototypical wide receiver, however, what he lacks in size he makes up for in pure speed and ability. Sumler led the Gulliver Prep football team last season in catches (54), yards (994), touchdowns (17) and interceptions (5). Sumler also returned 2 kickoffs for touchdowns last year (94, 79), virtually propelling his team in all aspects of the game.
A handful of Southern California's top football recruits walked onto the grounds of the CIF State Track Meet in Fresno on Friday (6/4/2010) with unmatched confidence.
In the 110M Hurdles, junior Devon Blackmon (Summit) finished 6th in the preliminary round in a time of 14.16.
De'anthony Thomas, or the "Black Mamba" as people refer to him, was a standout player at Crenshaw High School (Los Angeles, CA). Thomas was one of the top overall recruits in the nation going into his senior year. Projected by many to play multiple positions at the NCAA level, Thomas has developed into arguably the best athlete in all of college football going into the 2012 college football season. At 5'9", 170 pounds, what Thomas does not possess in terms of size, he makes up for with dedication, speed and pure ability.

After speaking to one of California's top 2011 prep football recruits, Devon Blackmon (Summit High School, CA), it's clear that not only is he extremely talented, but he's got the confidence and swagger to back it up. Blackmon is being recruited by nearly every top school in the country following his junior season, and you can expect the offers continue rolling in throughout the year. Blackmon has offers from USC, UCLA, Alabama, Florida, Oregon, Washington and several other schools.
De'Anthony Thomas just finished running the fastest time in the nation this year in the 200M at the LA City Section track meet, and on the football field he's proven himself to be equally dangerous. Last year, Thomas led the Crenshaw High School Cougars football team to a L.A. City Section title and a trip to the CIF State Championship game as a junior.
