CLA Recruit Spotlight: Michael Turner '14 DL - Auburn HS (AL)

Auburn HS (AL) Has 2014 Talent

Michael Turner is beginning to gain a lot of interest in the South. Auburn HS (AL) features a few of the nations' top recruits, and the 2014 defensive lineman Turner is grinding to get his name out there.

"I workout in the morning with Rashaan Evans, me and Darian (Yancey) and we do a lot of agility work. We got to camp together, we go to visits together. We work out everyday and I don't think we've missed a day yet. We take Sat and Sun off, but Mon-Fri we work on everything. We work on legs, we work on our speed," Turner told CLA Sports yesterday.

Michael Turner DL 2014: Junior Highlights - Auburn HS (AL)

Although the senior-to-be doesn't hold any official offers at the moment, he's taken unofficial visits to LSU and Auburn and will be attending spring practice at Middle Tennessee next month.

"Nebraska sends me a lot of stuff. Alabama State emailed me, and I talk to Auburn and they're going to come see me in spring.

Turner has also be in contact with the Tennessee Volunteers, but he's taking the recruiting process in stride.

"They like how i get to the ball and how I stay low. With 20 offers, or with none, I'm still going to produce. In my mind, I'm the best one out there on the field. If I'm tired I'll take myself out of the game and give someone else a chance to play. If I get beat, I'm going to get beat at full-speed," says Turner.

The Auburn HS football team just finished testing and Turner has shown that the work he's done has started to pay off. The junior ran a 4.60 shuttle, put up 360 pounds on the bench, posted a 26" vertical and ran a 5.3 forty.

At 6'0" 280, college coaches have questioned Turner's height, at times, but once they see his motor and how he dominates opponents by utilizing superior strength and leverage, height becomes a non-factor.

Turner continues to stay dedicated in the classroom and knows the value of receiving a quality education.

"If I have any problems I go to my teachers and get extra work in. You've gotta have good study habits and just have that mindset.. buckle down and have your academics as a priority," he says.

Look for Michael Turner (DL/2014) from Auburn HS (AL) to shine once again in 2013, and if all goes according to plan, he'll have several offers stacked up before the end of his senior season.
