"I went out there and it felt like home. The city was huge," said latest University of Washington commit Jalen Greene. As a Southern California native, Seattle was the better fit at the end of the day compared to Boise, Idaho.

Greene led the Serra Cavaliers to a victory in the 2012 CIF State Championship and back-to-back CIFSS Championships. Jalen is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the entire 2014 recruiting class and will help build the new program led by Chris Peterson.

UW has top-notch facilities and that is definitely a draw to incoming freshmen.

Joe Mixon has one official visit remaining. Thus far, Mixon has visited Cal, Washington, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. The 2014 All-American RB will likely take two more unofficials in addition to his last official visit.

Mixon's latest visit to Wisconsin was obviously a great one and the Badgers knocked off No. 16 ranked Northwestern in a classic Big-10 matchup.

In addition to the game, several things stood out to Mixon about his trip to Wisconsin.

Desean Holmes (WR/2015) is making a name for himself and has fully emerged from the shadow of teammate Steven Mitchell, who recently signed to play wide receiver for the USC Trojans in 2013.

Last season, CLA had the chance to watch Holmes' Bishop Alemany squad face Bishop Amat and 2013 UCLA WR signee Darren Andrews. Holmes was the star of the game and finished with more than 170 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Today has been a day to remember for 2015 DL Rasheem Green from Serra HS (CA). Prior to the Los Angeles NFTC, Green wasn't well recognized as a top prospect. That changed shortly after the NFTC when Green picked up his first offer from UCLA.

CLA spoke with Rasheem today and he was beyond excited about the new offers.

"I got the offer from SC first. Coaches Tee Martin and Coach O were at school today. I met Coach O first and they said that they had offered. I was very happy, I was surprised though. I didn't expect today to be this exciting," Green told CLA Sports.

With National Signing Day finally here, Salesian standout defensive back Jermaine Kelly Jr. can add a late offer from USC to the impressive list of programs clamoring for his services. While Kelly is committed to Washington, he remains interested in Oregon, USC and Boise State and intends to evaluate his options and make a prudent decision.

"I'm blessed right now. All I can do is take it in, and listen to what they have to say, along with my family and just pray on it," said Kelly.

Kelly is looking forward to the next step in his football journey.
