Two of the top programs in Southern California lock horns Friday night at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach when the Westlake Warriors take on the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits.
Both teams head into the contest undefeated and poised for great seasons. The host Jackrabbits feature a top flight defense that the explosive Westlake offense have yet to face this season.
The Warriors opened up the season with a dominating 44-17 victory over Canyon. Westlake followed that up with a hard fought 34-27 victory over Red Mountain in Arizona.
The Chaminade Eagles rolled to an impressive 70-23 victory over the Venice Gondoliers in their season opener last week. Chaminade received a stellar performance from Okalani Langi, who scored four touchdowns in his first game for the Eagles.
Chaminade jumped out to the early lead on a short touchdown run by Langi. A bad snap on a punt attempt cost the Eagles two points.
Trailing 7-2, Venice quarterback Robbie Blosser connected with Dejon Jones on a huge 55-yard touchdown strike to give the Gondoliers the lead 9-7. Chaminade responded quickly and added two more touchdowns by Langi.
The Westlake Warriors avenged last season's defeat to the Canyon Cowboys with a dominating 44-17 victory on the road last week.
Class of 2016 gun-slinger Malik Henry proved why he's so coveted by several big time college programs. Henry sprayed the ball around to his bevy of weapons and picked apart the Canyon defense.
The Warriors first touchdown was set up by a sweet punt return fromTanner Gee. Bruising back Reno Dubreuil rumbled for the score and a 7-0 lead.

The top high school football players in Northern California will be competing in the Passing Down NorCal Elite 7on7 Regional Sunday in Livermore. There will be 14 teams loaded with D1Bound talent in attendance.
Several of the top high school football players in Southern California competed in the 3rd annual 4th Quarter Sports 7v7 Shootout at Salesian high school Sunday. The athletes braved stormy weather conditions and nearly 12 hours of action before a champion was crowned.
In the finale, Team FCA defeated GameChangers to take home the trophy. Team FCA was led by Long Beach Poly quarterback Josh Love, Buena Park receiver Jaylinn Hawkins, Orange Lutheran athlete Hudson Hankins and several other talented D1Bound prospects.
