Several of the top high school football players in Southern California competed in the 3rd annual 4th Quarter Sports 7v7 Shootout at Salesian high school Sunday. The athletes braved stormy weather conditions and nearly 12 hours of action before a champion was crowned.
In the finale, Team FCA defeated GameChangers to take home the trophy. Team FCA was led by Long Beach Poly quarterback Josh Love, Buena Park receiver Jaylinn Hawkins, Orange Lutheran athlete Hudson Hankins and several other talented D1Bound prospects.
There were several teams in attendance. B2G 5 Star looked sharp and went undefeated on the day. Quarterback Brady White linked up with fellow Hart teammate Trent Irwin (WR/2015) early and often, carving up secondaries with his pinpoint accuracy. Long Beach Poly shutdown corner Iman Marshall dominated on both sides of the ball. On offense, Marshall was virtually unstoppable and is clearly one of the best recruits in the country.
4th Quarter Sports: Official 7on7 Tourney Mixtape
Poway's Tate Martell and the 2-Tone All-Stars cruised through pool play and are loaded with talent. Other teams that faired well on the day included host 4th Quarter Elite, Just Play Football, Ground Zero and many more.
Host school Salesian was well represented with Kyahva Tezino, Jeremy Kelly and Marcus Cosby putting in work. Fresh off earning MVP linebacker honors at the Rivals Camp, Tezino should land even more offers in the near future. On offense, Jeremy Kelly made several acrobatic touchdown catches, high pointing the ball with ease. With offers from California, Colorado and San Diego State already on the table, Kelly should be one of the most prized wideouts in the 2015 class.
4th Quarter Sports: 7on7 Defensive Mixtape
D1Bound athletes like Arizona commit Jamardre Cobb and USC commit Rahshead Johnson were out there supporting.
It was a great event put on by the 4th Quarter Sports crew. Salesian baseball player Matt Vargas laid down beats all day. Team FCA has now won two straight tournaments. The 7v7 season is heating up and provides skill players with the opportunity to showcase their skills against quality competition.
CLA will be at the NorCal Passing Down regional next week followed by the Pylon 7v7 tournament in Las Vegas from March 14-16 to provide exposure for college level athletes.
