The 2013 Honor Bowl final contest featured a matchup of nationally ranked stalwarts the Corona Centennial Huskies and St. Bonaventure Seraphs under the lights at Oceanside High. Led by a record-setting performance by 2014 Cal commit Tre Watson, Centennial defeated St. Bonaventure 69-55 in an old fashioned shootout.

Mater Dei senior quarterback Chase Forrest had another outstanding performance and moved the Monarchs offense down the field consistently. After a short touchdown run by Malik McMorris gave Mater Dei a 7-0 lead, Forrest linked up with junior two-way athlete Ben Humphreys on a 51-yard touchdown strike. A touchdown run from senior Justin Allen extended the lead to 21-0.
The Mater Dei Monarchs took care of business Friday night at the Santa Ana Bowl with an impressive 44-13 victory over Upland. Mater Dei quarterback Chase Forrest set the tone early with a long completion that he capped off with a sweet 19-yard touchdown run to give the Monarchs a 7-0 lead.
Mater Dei extended the lead to 14-0 on an 8-yard touchdown run from bulldozing fullback Malik McMorris. Shifty running back Justin Allen followed that up with a 19-yard scamper for six.
The weather conditions at Veteran's Stadium in Clovis, CA were ideal for day one of the 2013 CIF State Track & Field Championships. When you're an athlete coming from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, you have got a bit of a reputation to uphold and that hasn't been a problem for 6-foot-1, 200 lbs. WR/S John "JuJu" Smith. Smith has received upwards of 20 offers already and has been compared to one of, if not the top wide receiver in college football today in Marqise Lee. For now, however, Smith is focused on his upcoming season and the recruiting process throughout his senior year.
