For the second consecutive week, the Mater Dei Monarchs came out swinging and seized control of the game from the outset en route to a dominating 56-7 victory over the St. Paul Swordsmen Thursday night at the Santa Ana Bowl.
Mater Dei senior quarterback Chase Forrest had another outstanding performance and moved the Monarchs offense down the field consistently. After a short touchdown run by Malik McMorris gave Mater Dei a 7-0 lead, Forrest linked up with junior two-way athlete Ben Humphreys on a 51-yard touchdown strike. A touchdown run from senior Justin Allen extended the lead to 21-0.
