Inaugural Unsung Heroes Awards Hosted in Hollywood

Celebrating Future College Level Athletes

Thanks to Jeffrey Coprich and the Inner City Youth Foundation, the best local student athletes were celebrated on an Evening of Champions at the Inaugural Unsung Heroes Awards Ceremony at Celebrity Centre in Hollywood Sunday night.

CLA was honored to attend such a glorious event that featured several performers, including the LA City Inner CIty Mass Choir. Athletes were recognized for their success on the field, in the classroom and within the community.

CLA had the chance to catch up with many of the recipients including Nebraska commit Terrell Newby, Washington commit Jermaine Kelly Jr., UCLA commit Mossi Johnson, Sacramento State commit Jihad Vercher, Arizona commit Zachary Green, Cal commit Khalfani Muhammad and uncommitted standouts Keishawn Bierria, Max Lyons and Tahaan Goodman.

Goodman and his friend Priest Willis will announce where they will attend college on National Signing Day on ESPN.

In addition to the college bound stars, younger athletes were recognized for their accomplishments and exemplary performance.

The Inaugural Unsung Heroes Awards and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration was a great success and we look forward to next year.
