The 2nd Annual Unsung Heroes Awards Ceremony will be held Saturday night in LA at Redeemer Missionary Baptist Church. The event celebrates the top student athletes in the area that excelled on the field, in the classroom and within the community.
Thanks to Jeffrey Coprich and the Inner City Youth Foundation, the best local student athletes were celebrated on an Evening of Champions at the Inaugural Unsung Heroes Awards Ceremony at Celebrity Centre in Hollywood Sunday night.
CLA was honored to attend such a glorious event that featured several performers, including the LA City Inner CIty Mass Choir. Athletes were recognized for their success on the field, in the classroom and within the community.

The Gardena Serra Cavaliers captured the CIF-SS Western Division Championship with a hard fought 30-28 victory over the Chaminade Eagles at Serra High School Friday night.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early lead on a long touchdown run by junior Adoree’ Jackson on a fake punt.
Trailing 7-0, Chaminade answered with a touchdown run by standout running back Terrell Newby to tie the game.
Playmaking junior linebacker Dwight Williams gave Serra a 14-7 lead with an impressive interception return for a touchdown.
