The Burbank Bulldogs cruised to a dominating 56-14 Pacific League home victory over the Glendale Nitros Thursday night.
Burbank seized control of the game from the outset. Star junior running back James Williams took a shovel pass from junior quarterback Ryan Meredith to the house to give the Bulldogs the 6-0 advantage.
After recovering a Glendale fumble, bulldozing senior fullback Joseph Pendleton punched in a touchdown for Burbank to extend the lead. Williams added the 2-point run, giving the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead with 7:44 left in the opening quarter.

Talented senior wide receiver Oharjee Brown stepped up on the defensive side of the ball with a nice interception that set up Burbank in Nitro territory. In his first game on offense, senior Sebastian Santoro shined. Leading 14-0, Meredith linked up with Santoro on for a 39-yard touchdown strike.
The Bulldogs recovered the ensuing kickoff and once again had great field position. Meredith connected on a touchdown strike with Oharjee Brown to give the Burbank a 30-0 lead after the first quarter.

Continuing where they left off, James WIlliams took the opening snap of the second quarter 49 yards for six. The Bulldogs added to the lead further with another touchdown toss from Meredith to Santoro. Meredith was dropping dimes all night and finished with 4 touchdown passes.
Trailing 43-0, Glendale got on the board with a sweet touchdown catch by Martin Marin. With halftime approaching, James Williams 3rd touchdown of the half gave the Bulldogs a 49-7 lead.
Williams scored again in the third quarter on a touchdown run to extend the lead to 56-7. With the game in hand, the Bulldogs rested their starters and cruised to the victory. After two tough losses, the Bulldogs rebounded nicely and will look to run the table with games against Hoover and rival Burroughs to close out the regular season.
