The Chaminade Eagles topped the Oaks Christian Lions 21-14 in a hard fought battle between perennial powers Thursday night in Westlake Village. Miami 2014 commit and Elite 11 QB Brad Kaaya scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard plunge to secure the big road victory for the Eagles.

After a slow start for both teams, the score was 8-8 at halftime. Chaminade got on the board first with a touchdown run by senior Donovan Lee. The Eagles converted the 2-point try and made the score 8-0.

Vincent Jackson Jr. is one of the most highly-touted recruits in the class of 2014. Jackson hails from Jesuit High School (Tampa, FL) and sits on roughly 40 official scholarship offers from some of the top college football programs across the country.

CLA spoke with Vincent today and he gave us some insight on what the recruiting landscape looks like at the moment.

"I really wanna play early. I'm not worried about how good a team has been in the past. I don't wanna sit for 2 or 3 years," Jackson told CLA.

2014 HS football recruit Braxton Berrios (Leesville HS, Raleigh, NC) is something else. Berrios has scored 5 touchdowns on two different occasions so far this season and is becoming somewhat of a legend in the surrounding area.

Berrios stands 5'10" 170 and currently has offers from East Carolina, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina and Wake Forest. You can bet on that list growing substantially after his junior season for Leesville Road HS.

Braxton Berrios is a name to remember. Already one of the top football players in the state of North Carolina in the class of 2014, Berrios is a freak of an athlete. A 2-sport athlete (football & baseball), even though I hear rumors he can play basketball, to which I wouldn't doubt.
