The Chaminade Eagles topped the Oaks Christian Lions 21-14 in a hard fought battle between perennial powers Thursday night in Westlake Village. Miami 2014 commit and Elite 11 QB Brad Kaaya scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard plunge to secure the big road victory for the Eagles.
After a slow start for both teams, the score was 8-8 at halftime. Chaminade got on the board first with a touchdown run by senior Donovan Lee. The Eagles converted the 2-point try and made the score 8-0.
Chaminade vs Oaks Christian: Full Game Highlights
Arizona 2014 QB commit Brandon Dawkins led the host Lions on a nice drive that ended with a short touchdown pass to Chris Davis. Oaks Christian also went for two and Dawkins hurdled a defender for the conversion.
Both teams played well defensively in the first half and Oaks Christian junior Trevor Howard led the charge for the Lions with several nice tackles and huge hit on a punt return in the first quarter. UCLA commit JoJo McIntosh also played well for the Chaminade defense.
Oaks Christian and Chaminade each added two field goals and the game was tied 14-14 when Kaaya took the field and led the Eagles to a touchdown and 21-14 advantage.

Dawkins engineered a drive into Chaminade territory late in the game with some big strikes to Jeremy Vincent and Chris Davis.
With the game on the line, the Eagles defense stepped up and forced four straight stops to seal the win. Chaminade has a bye week before hosting Notre Dame while Oaks Christian has a road game at Crenshaw next Friday.
