The 2015 The Opening and Elite 11 at Nike Headquarters featured the top high school football players in the nation competing against the best at their position. 18 of the premier quarterbacks in the country vied for the Elite 11 MVP prize. In the end, Ole Miss commit Shea Patterson took home the MVP with a sensational performance in 7on7 elimination play in leading LunarBeast to the championship.

Class of 2017 WR Donovan Peoples-Jones Captures Nike Football Rating Championship at The Opening

Class of 2017 wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones shined on day one of The Opening Finals, claiming the Nike Football Rating National Championship with a 149.79 total score in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, agility shuttle and kneeling power ball toss. Peoples-Jones holds several scholarship offers including Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.

So really my decision came down to Long Beach Poly and IMG. I just thought IMG would prepare me better for the next level. Chris Weinke is the coach there. He won the Heisman, led them to their undefeated season and he wore number 16.

Hopefully I'll go to a couple games at Florida State next year.

I'd love to play in front of my family and friends in Long Beach but this was the best decision for me.

Mission League leaders Chaminade fought back from a 7-3 halftime deficit to overcome a rugged Loyola team. Loyola dominated a well coached first half with running back Daniel Tolbert scoring a touchdown on Loyola's opening drive.

Loyola almost went ahead by two touchdowns but Chaminade's defense held firm on an intense 4th and 1 inside the red zone. However, with under a minute left in the first half, quarterback Edward Sias led Chaminade on an impressive two-minute drill that resulted in a field goal.
