Quarterback guru Steve Clarkson's Throwback Football League provides student athletes with an opportunity to be great. Youngsters from 6th-8th grade are comprised of 10 teams sporting vintage throwback uniforms from football's glory days.
The TFL is a springtime full pads full contact league that seeks to recruit, develop and showcase the best young talent around. There are no kicks in the TFL. Each team starts offense with the ball on their own 40 yard line. If they are unable to score and choose to punt, the ball is advanced 30 yards where their opponent takes control of the ball.
CLA had the privilege to witness the action this past weekend and it was clear that there are a lot of talented student athletes on their way to starring at the high school level.
Highly touted quarterback and Washington commit Tate Martell shined for his squad leading them to a convincing victory.
The game between the Raiders and Vikings proved to be a hard hitting defensive struggle. The game was scoreless until the fourth quarter when the Vikings broke the stalemate and pulled out the W.

Student athletes seeking to develop their skills should join the Throwback Football League. The knowledge and wisdom gleaned from Steve Clarkson will be immeasurable to their growth moving forward.
The TFL is held weekly at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. On Memorial Day weekend in San Diego, the Steve Clarkson Quarterback Retreat will offer student athletes the perfect blend of honing their craft as a quarterback while having a great deal of fun with family.
These days, programs offer scholarships to kids before they reach high school. With that in mind, it is imperitive that student athletes interested in playing at the collegiate level participate in as many off-season camps and leagues like the TFL to improve their game.
CLA looks forward to following the growth and development of these student athletes as they embark on their football journey.
