If you haven't heard of 2015 CB Shaun Crawford out of Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward yet, you're going to in the near future. The 5'9", 165 lbs. athlete has been picking up quite a lot of interest lately and boasts offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida St., Illinois, Iowa, Miami (Fl.), Michigan St., Northwestern, Penn State, Tennessee and his two latest from Michigan and West Virginia.
Crawford has a lot of schools that like him and some that he really likes, but he's enjoying the process and waiting on another offer still. "It's pretty cool. Just waiting on the Trojans."
Crawford has mentioned before that he likes the USC Trojans, but would he commit right away if offered? "I want to visit first. Then, if I continue to love it like I do, of course (I'll commit)," Crawford said. He grew up watching the Trojans a lot and understands that it is one of the premier programs in the nation, but he wants to see more when he visits including looking forward to a "great campus and a good relationship with the coaches."
Of his latest offers, Michigan made sure that Crawford knew he was wanted. What did they tell him? "Just that my class is a tight recruiting class and they took their time to make sure they got a guy they really wanted. So just telling me I'm 1 of 1 who will be offered in the class of 2015."
Crawford also likes Michigan, describing them as a "lovely school and a great football program."
When it comes to being the only defensive back in his class, though, Crawford doesn't factor that much into his decision. "I want competition," Crawford said. Going on to describe what he's looking for in a college, Crawford said, "just an environment that fits me and coaches who understand me. Staying close to home doesn't really factor in because my parents want what's best for me so distance doesn't matter."
While Crawford does wait for that USC offer, he's got plenty to brag about and, sure enough, even more on the way in the near future.
