Richard Yeargin III committed to Notre Dame a few weeks ago and CLA recently caught up with the 2014 OLB (University School) from Florida.
"I'm happy with my commitment. You get great support and great feedback from them (ND). I'm always looking for good opportunities and they provided 'em," Yeargin III told CLA.
So far this season, Yeargin III is wreaking havoc on some of the nation's most powerful offenses.
"I got two and a half sacks, five tackles for loss, one pass deflection and a punt block," he said.
Those are phenomenal numbers considering U School has only played two games.
After making his commitment to Notre Dame, the 2014 recruit is looking forward to big things this season for University School. With a 2-0 record and a quality win over Homestead on ESPN, U School has outscored opponents 102-35.
This week University School faces more stiff competition.
"We play Miami Norland. They're looking pretty solid. They were a state title team a few years ago," said Yeargin III.
Defensively, U School is stacked. 2014 Florida Gators DB commit Quincy Wilson anchors the secondary and already has 2 interceptions on the season.
Rising sophomore DE Brian Burns (6'6 220) is going to have a big year according to Yeargin III, and he's been a major contributor over the first two games.
This season, Richard Yeargin III wants to go out with a bang.
"We're past the point of trying to be state champions. We have the toughest schedule in the country. We want to be nationally ranked number one," he says.
