Loyola 80, Calabasas 65
Parker Jackson-Cartwright strung together a dazzling triple double of 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Max Hazzard unleashed in like fashion with 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead Loyola past Calabasas. Thomas Welsh was just as terrific too with a putback jam and two hand bangout among the highlights of his 22 points on 10 of 12 FG (mostly in the paint). Welsh also snatched 14 rebounds, giving Loyola three players who posted at least a double-double.
Jeremy Lieberman led Calabasas with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and seven assists, and had hit four 3-pointers in an 18-point first half exhibition to keep the Coyotes in the mix before the Cubs roared away. Max Hoetzel pitched in with 15 points and 7 boards. Austin Smith added 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Campbell Hall 74, Brentwood 65
Aaron Holiday torched the hardwood with an impressive triple double of his own putting forth a 29 point, 10 rebound, and 10 dime effort with 5 steals. It was another day in the office as well for his point guard cohort Kahlil Simplis, who wheeled out 7 assists and scored 15 for Campbell Hall as they posted a solid victory against a tough Brentwood squad.
Colin Bell (7 points) made amends for a late arrival to the game by keeping the boards in check with 14 rebounds.
Ountae Campbell and Yonnie Napoleon were again at Brentwood's forefront, as Campbell put in 18 points and yanked 15 rebounds. Yonnie Napoleon had an off start but finished strongly down the second half stretch for a bulk of his 17 points.
St. Francis 58, La Salle 56
St. Francis nudged off La Salle in overtime 58-56 beneath the commanding presence of Kyle Leufroy who scored 19 points and collected 15 rebounds. Leufroy accounted for all 7 of SF's overtime points in the victory for the Golden Knights. Noah Willerford (16 points) continued on his perimeter feast this tournament with another four 3-pointers.
Leading La Salle, Vance Jackson had 30 points and picked up 15 caroms. Milan Acquaah did a little bit of everything with 9 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals.
West Ranch 60, Pasadena 45
West Ranch overwhelmed Pasadena early in the second half and galloped off to a 60-45 win. Izaya Doyle was strong as usual tallying up 11 points and 11 rebounds. The offense again revolved and rolled off the sleek Ryan Beddeo (8 points) who chipped in with 9 assists. Jon Semerjian and Ryne Williams each scored 10 points.
Jaylin Bledsoe delivered a team high 11 points off the bench, including two first half threes and a second half three point play. Andre Patterson added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the second half. Kevin Scott had 10 points and 9 boards. Nick Brown notched 7 points.
