Jermaine Kelly Commits to UCLA: Salesian DB Feels at Home with Mora

DB Jermaine Kelly Commits to UCLA

Salesian HS defensive back Jermaine Kelly has gained the attention of some of the top college football programs in the country. Recently, Kelly committed to the UCLA Bruins and will join Head Coach Jim Mora in Westwood.

Kelly held offers from UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Hawaii, Minnesota and several other schools before committing to the Bruins. At 6'2" 185, Kelly is a threat on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball. At the 2012 B2G Elite HS Football Camp sponsored by Adidas, Kelly was able to put the clamps on receivers during the 1on1 sessions, and had an overall great camp.

College Level Athletes spoke with Jermaine Kelly Sr. today about his sons' decision to commit to UCLA, and the Kelly family is happy with their decision.

"We want him to have a great education and get a degree. It's close to home so it'll be an ideal fit for him," said Jermaine Sr. Kelly's father also spoke of UCLA Head Coach Jim Mora and his history as a defensive back with the University of Washington as being a factor in Jermaine's decision to commit to the bruins.

"When Jermaine was at the camp, he (Mora) saw a potential great player that he can actually mold and make better. With the proper coaching, he can be a standout corner at the college and professional level.

Jermaine Kelly Jr. has received a lot of attention on the recruiting trail over the past few seasons, and with the help of programs such as B2G Sports, the Salesian HS defensive back can now take the weight of a college football commitment off of his shoulders.

When asked about the role that elite training camps and clinics have on a young player, Jermaine Sr. had this to say: "B2G has a name and they've been around for a while now. Henry Bell has done an excellent job with B2G. They have excellent coaches. They train the kids to get to the next level, but they also train them to become great men. Henry Bell and Jabari and all those guys have done an excellent job. Teaching them how to become really good people."

"We're happy with our decision. Go Bruins."
