Ishaq Williams (DE/2011, ESPNU #27 Overall) | Recruit Interview

Ishaq Williams (Lincoln High School, NY) is one of the top prep football recruits in the class of 2011, and you wouldn't even know it if you asked him. "I am a calm guy who doesn't like attention. Very laid back," Williams told CLA Sports. Last season, the humble 6'6" 230 pound defensive end led the Abraham Lincoln High School football team to their first postseason victory since 2003.

Williams finished his junior year with 43 tackles, 11 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries, and is ranked #27 overall on ESPNU's Top 150 recruits and #52 on the Rivals100 2011 list. Williams has great speed (4.65) and holds offers from many schools, including Florida, Maryland, Miami, USC, Oregon, Ohio State, Rutgers, Notre Dame and several others.

"I am still open and everyone is equal right now," said Williams in regards to his recruitment. Williams has visited Penn State, Pittsburg, Maryland, Syracuse and Rutgers, and he plans visit more schools over the summer. As one of the most heralded recruits in the nation, Williams' advice to other student-athletes undergoing the recruiting process is to "focus on school work and grades and always work hard in whatever you do."
