Five-star recruit Adoree' Jackson and Serra Head Coach Scott Altenberg decided to call the the University of Florida today so they could ask a few questions about the football and track programs..
The result? An official scholarship offer from the Gators.
SEC schools have come knocking and University of Florida is the latest school to offer one of the most highly-touted recruits in the nation in Serra's Jackson.
As a California CIF Track and Field champion in the long jump as a sophomore last year, and coming fresh off a CIF State HS Football Championship as a junior, Jackson is excited about his most recent scholarship offer.
"I talked to the running backs Brian White," Adoree' told CLA Sports this evening. "I was talking to him about the track team and he was was glad that I called and they ended up offering," he said.
Adoree' is definitely interested in running track at the collegiate level and has aspirations of competing for a spot on the long jump team in the Olympics if things go according to plan.
"I was asking them questions about the track team, and they asked me if I knew anything about the team. I said that I knew about Jeff Demps and how he plays football and runs track. They (Florida) said that football players do run track, " Jackson said.
In addition to the long jump, Adoree' has plans to compete in several other events at the college level.
"I talked about the 200M and the relays. The 4x100 and 4x400," he told CLA.
Jackson recently joined the Serra HS basketball team and will likely contribute early for the Cavaliers. He calmly stated, as only Adoree' can, that the hoop team needs to get in a rhythm. With Jackson leading the way, there is no question that things will come together quickly and efficiently.
So far, whatever Adoree' decides to do brings proven success. That's why they call him "Adoree Knows."
