The Salesian Mustangs rolled to a 50-12 victory in their home opener against the Hanford West Huskies on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Mustangs exploded for 30 points in the second. Arizona commit Rodney Carr broke the ice with a short touchdown run to give Salesian the lead. The two-point conversion made the score 8-0.
A long kick return by the Huskies gave them good field position. Hanford West quarterback Tyler Bakker moved them into scoring position with some solid completions but the Salesian D stepped up and forced a turnover on downs.
