In the West Coast Bowl at Home Depot Center in Carson Sunday, Lincoln head coach David Dunn led the Red All-Stars to a 21-16 victory over Narbonne head man Manuel Douglass and the Green All-Stars.
The game featured the best local football talent in the west coast. The Red team jumped out to a big early lead, highlighted by a long touchdown catch from Dorsey's Delvon Hardaway to give them a 14-3 halftime advantage. The San Jose State commit was named CLA Player of the Game for his efforts.
The Red defense was led by strong play from Canoga Park's Anthony Rios-Carlsen, Devin Holiday from Mission Hills in San Marcos and Lincoln's Tyrell Robinson.
Washington State wide receiver commit River Cracraft hauled in an acrobatic touchdown catch for the red team.
A lucky spectator had the opportunity to win a brand new BMW by making a 45-yard field goal during halftime but the kick fell short.
Rapper YG performed at halftime and was joined onstage by several players showing off some dance moves for the crowd.
Trailing 21-3, the Green squad finally got their offense rolling and rallied back into the game. Notable contributions were made by Oregon State commit Victor Bolden from Los Osos, Washington commit running back Lavon Coleman of Lompoc and UNLV commit quarterback Jared Lebowitz from St. Francis.
A sweet touchdown run from Lebowitz cut the deficit to 21-16 with a little over eight minutes to go. The Green defense tightened in the second half, led by Washington commit Jermaine Kelly Jr. of Salesian, San Diego State commit Charles Okonkwo and Narbonne's Keishawn Bierria.
Needing a touchdown, the Green team had the ball in the red zone but was unable to cash in as the Red defense stepped up and forced a turnover on downs. A last ditch shot to win the game was unsuccessful and the clock ran out before the Green squad could clock the ball for a final hail mary attempt.
For earning the victory, Coach Dunn received the customary Gatorade dump from his jubilant players.
With National Signing Day approaching, B2G's West Coast Bowl provided the uncommitted student athletes with a final opportunity to display their talents against top notch competition. CLA was honored to attend and wishes all the student athletes the best in their future endeavors.
