Class of 2011 CollegeLevelAthletes.com football recruit Todd Barr (DE, Lakewood High School, CA) was recently listed on the 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List.
Barr is turning the heads of college coaches and recruiters across the nation following his sensational junior season for the Lakewood High School Lancers. During the 2009 season Barr filled up the stat sheets, recording 53 solo tackles, 9.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 pass deflections and a fumble recovery. It should be noted that Barr lined up alongside Notre Dame defensive end commit Justin Utupo (DE/2010), who led the Lancers last season with 11.5 sacks.
As a junior, Barr proved to be a force on the field, and if you've seen his highlight video you wouldn't want to be any where near him if you have the pigskin in your hands. Scratch that, you don't want to be any where near him if you're on the opposite line of scrimmage. Barr has the speed and agility of a linebacker, and uses great pursuit angles going to the ball. Barr's size (6'1", 251) makes him a force to be reckoned with and an asset to any defense. Even though Lakewood lost several players to graduation including: Jesse Scroggins (QB, USC commit), Dion Bailey (S, USC commit), Justin Utupo (DE, Notre Dame commit) and Keanu Kalolo (LB, Northern Arizona commit), the Lancers have a great leader in Barr.
