The Gardena Serra Cavaliers took care of business Friday night with an impressive 58-6 victory over the Santa Monica Vikings. Serra advances to face top seed and undefeated Lompoc in the CIFSS Western division semifinals next Friday.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early lead on a short touchdown run by Malik Roberson.
Serra added to its lead on a 12-yard touchdown run from 5-star recruit Adoree’ Jackson.
Junior quarterback Jalen Greene extended the advantage with a 19-yard touchdown pass to senior Darrell Fuery. Greene connected with junior wide receiver Greg Webb on a 34-yard touchdown strike to give the Cavaliers a commanding 27-0 lead to end the first quarter.

Santa Monica scored their lone touchdown in the second quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run by Yachal Butler. USC commit Sebastian Larue made some nice plays for Santa Monica but was let down by some errant throws on key downs that halted Viking drives.
From that point on, the Serra offensive line, anchored by big Emerald Faletuiappai, created huge running lanes for Roberson, Jackson and Marques Rodgers. Serra took a 44-6 lead into halftime.
Adoree' Jackson Crazy TD Run: Play of the Game
The second half was highlighted by two big time plays from Serra. The first came from Adoree’ Jackson, who scored a touchdown on a mesmerizing 26-yard run in which he eluded several defenders.
The icing on the cake came in the form of an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown from freshman sensation Brandon Burton, who gave Serra fans a glimpse of the playmaking ability they should come to expect for the next few years.
All in all, it was a hard fought game by both teams but Serra proved superior. The Cavaliers must now focus their attention on a tough road trip to Lompoc with a berth in the division championship on the line.
