The Salesian Mustangs captured the CIFSS Northeast Division Championship with a dominating 34-0 victory over the Mission Prep Royals of San Luis Obispo Saturday night in front of a rocking sold-out crowd at Bishop Mora Salesian High School.
The Salesian defense set the tone early, forcing interceptions on the Royals first two possessions. After marching deep into Mission Prep territory, the Mustangs fumbled the ball away which led to a scoreless opening quarter.

The Mustangs jumped out to the 7-0 with a touchdown run from talented junior playmaker Kyahva Tezino. From there, senior quarterback Blaise Booth proceeded to carve up the Royals secondary. Booth linked up with junior speedster Jeremy Kelly on a long touchdown strike that extended the Salesian lead to 13-0.

On their next possession, Booth avoided a sack, rolled left and launched a bomb to junior Chris Pryor for his second touchdown pass of the evening. The Royals fumbled the ensuing kickoff setting the Mustangs up with great field position. With halftime approaching, Booth and Pryor connected again on another long touchdown strike to give Salesian a 27-0 lead.
Booth threw his fourth touchdown pass of the night, this time to Arizona commit Marquis Ware in the third quarter to give the Mustangs a commanding 34-0 advantage. Meanwhile, the Salesian D, led by standout linebacker Jamardre Cobb and defensive back Rodney Carr, bottled up the Royals offensive attack all night. The Mustangs forced consecutive turnover on downs to preserve the shutout and cruised to an impressive 34-0 victory. to claim their first CIF title in school history.
After two losses to open the season, the Mustangs rattled off 12 straight wins en route to their first CIF title in school history.
