Lemoore senior running back Richard Doctor possesses blazing speed and uncanny vision out of the backfield. Doctor's downhill and elusive running style make him a nightmare for opposing defenses to contain.
The Class of 2014 standout leads the state of California in rushing, having already amassed 1,882 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Lemoore Tigers.
In addition to his on field exploits, Richard Doctor excels in the classroom, sporting a 4.28 GPA despite a schedule stacked with AP classes.
CLA had the opportunity to catch up with Doctor to discuss his recruiting status.
Richard Doctor: Midseason Senior Highlights
"I've been talking to Cal Poly, UC Davis and the Ivy League schools Yale and Penn," Doctor said.
Waiting on that first official scholarship offer, Doctor has been working hard to achieve his goal.
"I was at the Army All-American combine in January. I went to Cal Poly camp and to the Stanford camp. I also went to Penn and Princeton Ivy League camps," said Doctor.
Doctor has a strong support system that allows him to focus on his grades and play on the field.
"My head coach does a good job of it, my dad deals with emails and phone calls," said Doctor.
At 5'8 185 with a 4.5 40 time, Doctor is an exceptional all-around athlete.
"I play basketball and run track. Long jump, 4x100 and the 100M," Doctor told CLA Sports.
CLA expects Doctor to continue his rushing onslaught and garner the attention of more college coaches around the country. You simply can't teach the kind of vision and cut back ability that Doctor displays on a consistent basis. Adding a talent like Richard Doctor would be a benefit to any program.
