Valencia Vikings senior playmaker Nick Jones landed his first scholarship offer from Chadron State recently. The Division II program produced NFL running back Danny Woodhead and is located in Nebraska.
Jones has established himself as one of the most productive receivers in Southern California this season, hauling in 46 catches for 1,126 yards and 15 touchdowns. Jones has a knack for making plays in big games.

In Valencia's 28-23 playoff victory over Arroyo Grande this past Friday, Jones balled out with three touchdowns, helping the Vikings advance to the CIFSS Northern Division Semifinals against Foothill League foe Saugus next Friday.
CLA had the chance to catch up with Nick to get his thoughts on the Chadron State scholarship offer.
"It's really exciting. My whole family knows about it. Everybody's all excited. I told my counselor and she was excited. We've been working hard to get my grades back up. They offered me a partial scholarship. They just talked to me about the atmosphere there, the school, what it's about, what major I wanted to go into" Jones told CLA Sports.
Nick's playmaking ability has caught the attention of other programs as well.
"Eastern Washington is going to try to put together an offer. 50% football and 50% track. I talked to Cal Poly before the season. BYU just came back into contact," said Jones.
Jones is grateful for his first offer.
"It's amazing that I have the opportunity to go somewhere. I've been working so long since I was a little kid playing football and it's finally paid off enough to get me to college," Jones said.
CLA expects Jones to land more scholarships in the near future. The kid is a gamer, with sticky hands and elite ball skills. Nick Jones would be a welcomed addition to any collegiate program.
