"They called me and Rasheem (Green) and offered us. It was a quick conversation just saying that I got an offer and go Gators. He (Coach White) said that he likes that I'm aggressive and that I'm a hard-hitter and he'll talk to me more on Monday about it," John Houston told CLA Sports this evening.
It was a busy day for the 2015 LB from Gardena Serra High School. Houston racked up offers from the USC Trojans and Florida Gators today.
"My reaction was ecstatic. Finally after my hard work and dedication to football and going to the state championship and all.. I feel like I deserved this," said Houston.

Houston spoke with USC coaches on campus today at Serra and the Trojans extended the offer. "They said I have an official offer to USC and I should be talking to them later on tonight to get some more details on that," Houston told CLA.
Today was a celebration for Houston, his family and coaches. "They were really happy and everybody was joyful. They said 'good job' and 'you worked hard for it.' The coaches were happy to see me grow as a player too," he says.
After his emergence as a clear leader for the Serra Cavaliers defense, Houston looks forward to stepping up for his junior season and you can hear it in his voice.
"It's going to be really good for me to show my leadership to the younger guys, to make sure they work hard and have a hard work ethic on the football field and never slack off. Stay at 'em and treat them like the coaches would treat 'em. Make sure they work hard each and every play, grind hard and focus on the books," says Houston.
In the immediate future, Houston plans to visit UCLA on Monday along with teammates Dwight Williams, Adoree' Jackson, Malik Roberson and Rasheem Green.
He was extremely happy about the offer from the Gators.
"It's exciting that I got an offer from them and that they even thought about my name. I feel like I just have to work hard and get better to make myself look more presentable," he says.
