Jalen Greene will enroll early at USC and be the next Socal quarterback to join the Trojan family. Greene was previously committed to Boise State and University of Washington, but do to coaching situations and a change of heart he'll remain in Southern California.
"They've (USC) been talking to me since they had their coaching change. I felt like I was at home in Washington because I was comfortable with the coaches, but before the dead period I was talking to Coach Sark and Tee Martin. Sark couldn't recruit me at Washington with guys like Troy Willams already there but now that they're down here I'm their number one guy," Greene told CLA Sports today.
Jalen Greene: Senior Passing Highlights
Look for the offensive scheme at USC to change over the course of the next few months and look for Greene to benefit from the new system.
"Coach Sark was saying that it's going to be an even battle at quarterback. He's gonna coach all of us with the new system. We're going to have even jobs because everyone will learn the new system at the same time," said Greene.
Jalen Greene Mixtape: Serra vs St. Francis
With regards to other Serra recruits that USC is targetting, Greene says he feels very solid about the committment from senior LB Olajuwon Tucker.
"I think Olajuwon is solid with USC," he said.
Many recruiting decisions are centered around family and Greene ultimately won the support of his parents with his decision to become a Trojan.
"My family was a little skeptical at first because they didn't know the coaches as well as they knew the Boise and Washington coaches. They wanted me to do what was best for more," he said.
Serra coaching staff was also excited for Jalen and his decision.
"My DB coach Marvin Pollard is super excited because he's an SC alum. I talked to Marqise (Lee) at our championship game and I was talking to George (Farmer) and he said USC changed the whole offense. I'll have a grasp but have to learn the terminology," Greene told CLA.
Get ready for an entirely new look for USC football next season, and if all goes according to plan look for Jalen Greene to have a solid shot to battle for the starting position at Southern Cal after he enrolls early.
"Fight on and get ready for the show," says Greene.
