Serra Rallies To Beat Notre Dame 20-13 in Double Overtime

Adoree' Jackson Scores Game-Winner

The Gardena Serra Cavaliers pulled out a double overtime 20-13 victory over Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) in a wild contest that featured late game heroics from Adoree' Jackson and Jalen Greene.

Notre Dame controlled the game in the first half and jumped out to a 6-0 advantage with two field goals by senior kicker Lucas Alfonso. The Knights defense played great. Koa Farmer and Mike Little locked down the secondary and the Cavaliers were unable to mount much of an offensive attack for three quarters.

Trailing 6-0 with 4:09 to play, Jalen Greene led the Cavaliers down the field, capping the drive off with a 15-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 6. The potential go-ahead extra point was blocked.

Notre Dame quarterback Grant Kraemer connected with Cal commit Koa Farmer on a 50-yard touchdown strike that sent the Knights crowd into a frenzy and gave Notre Dame a 13-6 with about a minute to play.

With the game on the line and his team in need of a big play, Adoree' Jackson exploded for a blazing 80-yard touchdown catch and run on a quick strike from Greene for the equalizer.

Four quarters was not enough to determine a victor and the game headed to overtime where both teams failed on field goal attempts. After Serra blocked the Notre Dame try, the potential game winning kick for the Cavs hooked left.

In the second extra frame, it was time for Adoree' to make another imprint on the game. After dropping a potential game-winning touchdown in the first OT, Jackson hauled in a 25-yard touchdown from Greene to give Serra a 20-13 lead.

The Serra defense, led by another standout performance by Olajuwon Tucker, forced four straight incompletions to secure the comeback win for the Cavaliers in a classic high school battle.

Notre Dame faces another road test next week at Birmingham while Serra hosts Dorsey.
