Class of 2015 Freedom offensive lineman Dominic Fredrickson has landed a scholarship offer from the UCLA Bruins. The 6'3 300 bruiser paved the way for superstar running back and Army All-American Joe Mixon to run wild this season for the Falcons. Fredrickson imposes his will on the opponent and plays with a mean streak.
CLA caught up with Dominic to get his thoughts on receiving an offer from a Pac-12 power like UCLA.
Dominic Fredrickson: Midseason Junior Highlights
"Mori called me before the Thursday practice on 3-way with Coach Klemm. He said he liked my tape and liked my aggressiveness. He said he wanted to get to me early before the other schools. He told me to call him or text him if I have any questions. He likes my run blocking and the way I run my feet. That was one of the main reasons he offered me," Fredrickson told CLA Sports.
Coincidently, Frederickson's Freedom teammate Joe Mixon was on an unofficial visit at UCLA to watch the Bruins battle Arizona State on Saturday. On the prospects of potentially playing with his buddy at the next level, Dominic would relish the opportunity.
Dominic Fredrickson: Recruit Interview
"Yeah it'd definitely be cool to block for Joe, he's a good dude. I'd like to play with him," said Fredrickson.
Dominic is blessed with a solid support system that holds his best interests at heart.
"My dad's really excited. He's just proud and he told me to be ready for more recruiting stuff. The 2014 kids are gonna start coming off the board pretty quick here. I think the reaction is going to be pretty big. I have a lot of teachers that I'm pretty close with at the school. This is the first time we've ever had 3 Division I players on the same team," said Fredrickson.
Dominic is excited about the UCLA program and looks forward to visiting soon.
"I'm definitely interested and I like the direction the program is going even though they lost a tough one last night. They're a young team. I'll probably go down there sometime during the spring for the camp," said Fredrickson.
CLA expects Frederickson to reel in more scholarship offers in the future and looks forward to following his continued success at Freedom.
