JSerra Catholic senior Dante Pettis is one of the most dynamic athletes we've watched this high school football season. Pettis is the cousin of former Boise State Broncos WR Austin and is the son of current Texas Rangers coach and former MLB Gold Glove winner Gary.
To say athleticism is in Pettis' blood would be an understatement.
Boise State became Dante's fifth official scholarship offer today and the Broncos are undoubtedly in his top list of schools.

Add Boise State to Pettis' current list of offers that includes: Fresno State, SDSU, Nevada and SMU. "I talked to Coach Bhonapha, he's the running backs coach," Dante told CLA this evening.
Just got offered by Boise State!!

"They (Boise) came to my school on Friday and said they're going to sit down and watch my film with the whole coaching staff. I called him (Coach Bhonapha) today and he just talked to me about the program. He let me talk to the receivers coach and he told me that they were going to offer," said Pettis.
This season Dante Pettis put on performance after performance for JSerra Catholic and contributed on offense, defense, and special teams. At 6'2 185, Dante can make things happen on a football field that not many other players can.
Pettis is excited about the Boise State offer.
"Obviously my cousin went there and I thought it would be cool if I went there too. It's a good feeling. I could definitely see myself being a Bronco," he says.
Boise State offered Pettis at wide receiver, but he said they're flexible.
"They said that they liked how versatile I am and that they could put me wherever. He mentioned returning kicks and said that it didn't matter if I wanted to play defense. He just wanted me to catch some touchdowns and it doesn't really matter if they have guys older than me. If I come in and I ball then I can play," Dante told CLA.
Another school now in the mix for Pettis is the University of Colorado. Dante spoke with receivers Coach Troy Walters over the phone recently and it seems like the first Pac-12 offer for the JSerra senior is in the works.
"I just talked to Colorado. He said that he's gonna sit down with a couple of coaches tomorrow and that I'll hopefully get an offer this week. Coach Walters seemed pretty intent that they were gonna offer me," he said.
If Colorado offers it would mean a lot to Pettis.
"I would definitely have to consider them (Colorado) a lot more. I've always wanted to play in the Pac-12," he says.
