The Chaminade Eagles escaped with a thrilling 46-43 home victory over the Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) Knights behind five touchdowns from Donovan Lee on a windy Friday night in West Hills.
Cal commit Koa Farmer balled out with four touchdowns for Notre Dame, including a ridiculous 69-yard touchdown burst after hurdling a defender.

Trailing 46-43 with less than a minute to play, Notre Dame quarterback Grant Kraemer led his team down the field. A big time connection to Daniel Khan set the Knights up for a potential game-tying field goal.
Standing on the Notre Dame sideline, it appeared Lucas Alfonso's kick was good but the officials ruled it no good and the game ended in chaos and confusion. It was unfortunate that a classic battle between two great teams concluded in such bizarre fashion.
The contest featured several lead changes and standout performances from a cast of D1 bound ballers on both sides. The scoring kicked off with a short touchdown run by Lee to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead.
Notre Dame responded with a touchdown pass from Kraemer to Khan to tie the game. From there, it was time for Farmer to display his versatility, scoring a touchdown out of the Wildcat formation to give the Knights a 14-7 advantage.
Miami commit Brad Kaaya marched the Eagles down before halftime and linked up with sophomore Dymond Lee on a touchdown strike to tie the game. Lee finished with seven catches for 102 yards.
Chaminade came out swinging in the second half and stormed down the field, taking the lead on another touchdown run by Lee. A big time interception by Isaiah Thomas set up the Eagles on the doorstep again. Lee punched in another touchdown to extend the advantage to 29-14.

Notre Dame cut into the deficit on Farmer's second touchdown run of the game. A heavy dose of Chris Colorossi, who had 122 rushing yards for the Knights was key to their success. A bad snap on a Chaminade punt attempt led to a safety that made the score 29-23. With momentum on their side, Farmer set the Knights up with great field position with a nice return. Notre Dame capped off the drive with an amazing diving 28-yard touchdown catch by Khan to give the Knights the lead.
After the Eagles added a field goal to regain the lead 32-30, Farmer wowed the crowd with his mesmerizing 69-yard touchdown to give Notre Dame a 37-32 advantage.
Lee's fourth touchdown of the game put Chaminade ahead 39-37 but Farmer answered with his fourth score to give the Knights a 43-39 with a few minutes left.
Kaaya engineered a drive into Notre Dame territory. Facing a 4th and 2, the Eagles called Lee's number once again and he delivered a critical first down. On the next play, Lee capped it off with his fifth touchdown to give Chaminade the 46-43 advantage.
With the victory, Chaminade improves to 4-1 with a tough league game at undefeated Cathedral next Friday. Notre Dame falls to 4-2 and will look to bounce back at home against league foe Bishop Amat.
