Brett Hundley (QB/2011) | Exclusive Recruiting Interview

Tacoi Sumler (WR/2011) Exclusive Recruiting Interview

Last season was truly a breakout year for junior quarterback Brett Hundley (Chandler High School, AZ) who passed for 1517 yards and 16 touchdowns with only two interceptions, and ran for another 1208 yards and 12 scores. A proven pocket passer and runner, Hundley (6'4" 210) was chosen as the Gatorade Arizona football player of the year last season and has received offers from many top programs nationwide. Hundley's offers include UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, Washington and several others.

With the recent departure of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, look for the Oregon Ducks to increase their pursuit of the Arizona prep quarterback Hundley who just returned from an unofficial visit to Eugene. "It's nice to know the QB position is open," said Hundley, who has received comparisons to NFL superstar Donovan McNabb with his ability to deliver the ball with velocity and precision, and NFL legend Randall Cunningham (Phildelphia Eagles). Hundley even punted the ball twice in a 45-42 victory over Mountain View High School, and averaged over 44 yards per punt.

Hundley is taking the recruiting process in stride, and doesn't indicate any preference of schools at this point. "I will pick the school that I feel is right. I will be narrowing down my schools shortly," Hundley said. With the frame of an NFL style quarterback, Hundley will fit right in at the next level. Hundley is a confident signal caller and in a self-assessment said that, "I'd say he has a lot of upside. Leadership, athleticism, rocket arm, and very accurate. He needs to improve on footwork."

Hundley knows he has room to grow into a more complete quarterback during the upcoming football season, and you can look for teams to continue to be high on the Chandler High School product. Whichever school Hundley decides to attend following his senior year will be the recipient of an excellent student-athlete. Hundley has posted a 3.83 grade point average in his high school career and has the mold of a true leader.
