2014 QB Ty Gangi did everything imaginable for St. Francis tonight in a battle of unbeatens. The Knights came into this road game vs Monrovia with a 4-0 record and things got moving quickly.

St. Francis pulled out a bit of trickery for the first score of the game and Gangi caught a throwback pass for a short touchdown. Senior RB Joe Mudie made it 8-0 after scoring on the two-point conversion.

Sensational Monrovia athlete Kurt Scoby took advantage of the Wildcats next possession and dove into the end zone for a touchdown on a screen pass to make the game 8-7.

Ellis McCarthy

Hometown:

Monrovia, CA

Ellis McCarthy demonstrates the ability of a former NFL coach like Jim Mora Jr. to attract five-star recruits. After verbally committing to Cal, McCarthy decided to stay close to home and anchor the Bruins defense.

The nation‘s top defensive tackle prospect, McCarthy was a flat out beast at Monrovia High School and is expected to be a disruptive force along the defensive line. At 6’4 311, McCarthy possesses the brute strength, athleticism and versatility that will make him a nightmare for opposing offenses to contain from day one.
