The JSerra Catholic Lions topped the St. Bonaventure Seraphs 42-28 in front of a raucous crowd Friday night at Saddleback College. With the victory, the Lions improve to 4-0 on the season.

St. Bonaventure jumped out to the early 7-0 lead. USC commit Ricky Town linked up with speedster Lavan Alston on a long touchdown strike.

JSerra responded immediately with an explosive 72-yard touchdown burst by Edward "EJ" Vander to tie the game 7-7 in the first quarter.

The highly anticipated matchup between the host Mission Viejo Diablos and the visiting Don Bosco Prep Ironmen from New Jersey lived up to the hype with the Diablos pulling out a thrilling 28-25 victory in overtime on an 11-yard touchdown run by Alex Suchesk.

Leading 3-0, Mission Viejo quarterback Ian Fieber connected with Boise State commit Sean Modster on a 14-yard touchdown strike to put the Diablos up 10-0. The defense was led by the stellar play of senior Michael Matthews. Viejo added a field goal and led 13-0 at halftime.

I caught up with 2013 Notre Dame football signee Max Redfield today at the Nike Arcadia Invite Track Meet (Arcadia, CA). Redfield was an alternate for the 4x400 relay but did not compete.

He talked about some of the players that he's been in contact with from the incoming Fighting Irish recruiting class and expressed excitement about joining the team. Watch this Max Redfield Official Highlight Video Mix from CLA Sports. Redfield fueled the Mission Viejo victory over El Toro, and the Diablos claimed the South Coast League title in a 49-7 blowout.

Redfield indicated that he was a "soft commit" to the Trojans after the victory over El Toro, and made the decision the day after USC's loss to the Oregon Ducks that he is no longer committed to the Trojans for 2013.

Look for recruiting to heat up for Max Redfield from schools such as Oregon, Notre Dame, Washington and LSU.

The Mission Viejo Diablos overpowered the El Toro Chargers 49-7 in a highly anticipated clash for the South Coast League crown. Both teams came into the game undefeated but the Diablos proved supreme.

The Mission Viejo defense forced Utah bound El Toro quarterback Conner Manning into six interceptions and bottled up the Chargers high-powered offense.
