The Recruit Life Sneak Preview. Adoree' Jackson, Dwight Williams, Jalen Greene and Glen Ihenacho. CLA goes into "The Recruit Life" with four of the West Coast's top 2014 HS football recruits.
Watch Terry Crews give recruiting advice to a few Serra Cavaliers. 2014 All-American recruits Adoree' Jackson and Dwight Williams met Crews along with teammates Jalen Greene and Glen Ihenacho. Greene recently committed to Boise State.
(Hoover HS) - Pasadena hastily put all haunts stemming from a woeful start to rest with a steady five run surge in the third inning, and another of four in the sixth en route to a 9-0 shutout against Hoover in Pacific League action.
One name that you will hear more of in the Southern California area is Ricky Town. The 2015 quarterback from St. Bonaventure in Ventura, California stands 6-foot-4 and 190 lbs. and is picking up interest rather quickly.
"I have offers from UCLA and Miami (Fl.). Stanford, Alabama, Arizona State and Washington are also showing interest," Town said. That is a great list to boast for any quarterback, especially this early in the stage for a 2015 recruit. He's just patiently waiting on more offers, but he's going out there to try to earn them.
You can't hold back the competitive nature of a great athlete. Along with his competitive fire, the desire to win and to be the best is what fuels Serra High School's Adoree' Jackson.
"I know once I get out there nobody is going to touch me," the junior says as he talks about competing in the long jump. "During basketball season I went out there and jumped 22 feet and I only took 8 steps."
"It was fun. Every year's a new challenge," Stanley Johnson told CLA Sports yesterday.
Winning state championships should be fun and the Mater Dei Monarchs are beginning to build a monopoly on post-season celebrations in Sacramento. Stanley Johnson led the Monarchs to their 10th CIF State Championship under Head Coach Gary McKnight last week.
Believe it or not, Mater Dei wasn't projected to be a championship-caliber team this season.
Jamardre Cobb is the real deal. On one hand, Cobb can take a lick and keep on ticking, as proven by the recent 15 stitches he received above his eye after colliding with a teammate during a 7on7 game. On the other hand, he's known amongst the high school and college football world for being the one who delivers the blows.
Watch a few of the top plays from the NFA 7on7 Passing Tournament at Newbury Park High School (CA).
Notable players who stood out today were Naijiel Hale (DB/2014) from St. John Bosco, Brady White (QB/2015) out of Newhall's Hart High School, along with Serra's Dwight Williams and Mater Dei rising '14 DB recruit Jonathan Lockett.
Today's opening day of the NFA 7on7 passing tournament at Newbury Park High School was well worth the journey. Several of the country's top 7on7 teams were on display. The Gamebreakers, who are coached by former USC Trojan and NFL defensive lineman Chris Claiborne, in addition to the Snoop Dogg All-Stars, B2G Sports and Ground Zero were a few of the top teams who competed on Saturday.
The early games brought excitement to a crowd full of spectators that included parents, fans, players and media, but things got a bit more exciting once the stadium lights were turned on.
Boise State offered quarterback Jalen Greene (QB/2014) today while the junior and his father strolled the campus. Greene was excited to see the business school. "That's what I'm going to major in," he told CLA Sports today.
The reigning CIF State Champion Serra Cavaliers have a stacked 2014 recruiting class. It's no question that football teams live and die by the quarterback and Jalen Greene lived to the fullest for his team last season. Greene led the Cavs to the CIF Division III State title and finished the season with over 3,500 yards of total offense.
