UCLA QB Brett Hundley Ready for 2012 Spring Ball

Hundley Remains Humble About 2012 UCLA Quarterback Competition

It’s the first day of Spring and the UCLA football team is gearing up for a big season under new head coach Jim Mora. The Bruins officially open spring practice on April 3rd at Spaulding Field. Practices are open to the public and will provide the Bruin faithful with their initial glimpse at the 2012 UCLA Bruins football team.

The most anticipated competition will take place at quarterback. The Bruins return veterans Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut and supremely talented redshirt freshman Brett Hundley.

With spring ball around the corner, CLA had the opportunity to catch up with UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley. The former Chandler High standout is determined to work on all facets of his game.

“Anything and everything. I have always felt as if to be the best, you have to understand that there is always something to improve in,” said Hundley.

With so much attention and focus on football, juggling academics can be a challenge. A dedicated student, Hundley offers future college level athletes with some insight of what to expect and his educational aspirations.

“It’s hard at first but I have got comfortable with my schedule now. I have also settled on a major. I will be Majoring in Economics while also Minoring in African-American Studies.”

In regards to the quarterback battle, Hundley remains humble about his odds of locking down the starting job.

“You know I couldn’t tell you. I’m just working to be the best I can be and all will be settled from that.”

The annual spring game is May 5 at the Rose Bowl. UCLA opens the season on the road at Rice on Sept 1. It remains to be seen how the quarterback situation will shake out but CLA firmly believes that Brett Hundley is the man for the job.
