David Dominguez Goes 3-4, Drives in 2 Runs for Arcadia

Apaches Wins in Bottom of 11th

Burroughs loaded the bases on Hoppy once, and drew leadoff walks in consecutive innings prior. But as it all unfolded in front of everyone attending the game at Arcadia High School's Giambrone Field today in a monster Pacific league showdown between the host Apaches and guest John Burroughs Indians from Burbank, the southpaw reliever Jonathan Hopkins, popularly known as "Hoppy" to the Apache faithful en masse, overcame all the pressure to deal four no-hit shutout innings and earn the win in relief.

Arcadia prevailed in the bottom of the 11th when Cameron Tuck, on 3rd with one out after blasting a first pitch base hit thru the 5-6 to lead off the inning prior, was sacrificed into position by Jason Bunch before stormed home on a walkoff bunt single by Matt Morales up the left side of the infield box. Morales had earlier singled in Austin Georgen to give Arcadia a 3-2 lead going into the top-7th.

Burroughs had twice taken the lead early, striking first in the opening stanza as Brian Pozos doubled in Chris Davies. Arcadia quickly responded in the ensuing half of the first when Brendan Toy, dosed on the first pitch, advanced to second off a wild pitch before sprinting home on Dominguez's right field single.

The Indians' starting pitcher, Luis Pereyra, helped his own cause by leading off on second (after a mishandled infield single) and scoring off a groundout by Aiden Anding in the 2nd inning to regain the lead for Burroughs.

David Dominguez had a sizzling stick at bat, going 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI's driving in the first two runs of the victorious Apaches, who handed Burroughs consecutive league losses to forge a three way tie for second place in the Pacific, as Crescenta Valley and Burbank likely spun off easy victories against Muir and Hoover. Burbank takes the front seat at 7-1, followed by Arcadia, Burroughs, and CV together for second one game back at 6-2.

Arcadia rounds out the week with a Friday afternoon home matineƩ against the John Muir Mustangs, while Burroughs seeks to end the skid back home versus Pasadena. Both games are 3:30pm.
