Read Kyle Prater's Weekly Chicago Tribune Column
Senior wide receiver, Kyle Prater, from Proviso East (IL), is going to be the future of the Trojan's receiving core. This season, the Chicago Tribune is doing something that many major newspapers across the nation should be doing, especially in the withering world of print media. Not only has Kyle Prater verbally committed to play for LA's only professional football team, he'll arrive in Hollywood fashion with a year of Chicago Tribune writing experience under his belt, via his weekly diary featured in the Tribune's high school sports section. No matter what happens this season, it is already a memorable on for Prater, who will undoubtedly start a trend amongst newspaper outlets throughout the country. Do I smell high school BCS in the future? Give it 5-10 years tops before we have some form of national high school playoff. Just a prediction. Calm down.

Prater is a top wide receiver recruit in the high school football class of 2010, and if Prater ends up signing with USC early next year, look for the Trojan dynasty to return. Next year's team could very well resemble the likes of past Trojan squads that featured Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer, Lendale White, Steve Smith, and others, and place the Trojan football legacy back on track.
The Trojans already have several key wide receivers on their depth chart in 2009, that include (according to wearesc.com):
- #9 - David Ausberry (6-4, 235, Jr.*)
- #19 - Brice Butler (6-3, 200, Fr.*)
- #80 - Brandon Carswell (6-1, 185, So.*)
- #23 - Jordan Cameron (6-5, 220, Jr.*)
Look for incoming recruits, Robert Woods (WR/2010, Serra HS, Ca) and Kyle Prater to step into important roles under the Matt Barkley led Trojan attack in 2010.
Kyle Prater signed a National Letter of Intent with USC
Prater Committed?
From the interviews I've heard, he sounds like he's wavering on his commitment. Or did he retract those statements from a few days after too???
