My experience at the LA Watts Summer Games was incredible and inspirational. Having been a kid who grew up playing basketball around the neighborhood with K&E Bulls out of the Crenshaw district, it was nostalgic to see this event unfold with my team partner and great friend Aaron Plunkett. Even though he was handicapped with a badly sprained ankle, he made his way across numerous playing fields to support the LA Watts Summer Games mission, and it was dedication at its finest.

Long Beach Poly high school football has long served as a gateway to the NFL, sending more players to the league than any school in history. Sports Illustrated named Poly, the athletic school of the century. Former Poly greats include Willie McGinest, Desean Jackson and Mark Carrier.

Senior hybrid linebacker Jayon Brown appears ready to carry on the proud Jackrabbit tradition in 2012. At 6-1 205, Brown has an instinctive nose for the ball and a knack for laying the wood on the opposition. Last season, Jayon compiled 65 tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception.

It is known throughout the world of sports that AEG wants to own an NFL franchise and build a state-of-the-art stadium in downtown Los Angeles. What has been widely ignored is the fact that either USC or UCLA will benefit directly from the presence of an NFL team in Los Angeles. AEG billionaire owner Philip Anschutz has his hands gripped tightly around the epicenter of downtown Los Angeles.

CLA Sports caught up with Damore'ea Stringfellow (WR/2013) at the 2012 LA Nike Sparq Football Camp at Cerritos College. Stringfellow currently has offers from Florida, Michigan, Washington, Nebraska, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington State, to name a few.
